Our client is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its Acquisitions team, with flexibility to be based in either Tampa, FL or Los Angeles, CA. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing platform focused on multifamily real estate investments. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities and demonstrated experience underwriting direct investments, particularly within the multifamily asset class.
We are looking for candidates who are not only analytically sharp but also have strong interpersonal skills. The role requires frequent interaction with a wide range of stakeholders including brokers, intermediaries, capital partners, investors, consultants, key industry players, and the firm’s senior leadership. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for real estate and a desire to grow within a collaborative, performance-driven environment.
Responsibilities : Asset Management
- Aggregate and update property-level data weekly for portfolio oversight.
- Compile and analyze monthly operating statements for the Berkshire Property Holdings portfolio.
- Prepare and track annual budgets, leasing / business assumptions, and quarterly performance reports.
- Maintain and update debt reports quarterly, ensuring compliance with lender covenants.
- Analyze refinancing alternatives and present recommendations to management.
- Prepare agendas for weekly asset manager property calls.
- Create, update, and present financial dashboards for management review.
- Ensure adherence to internal audit procedures and tracking methods.
Acquisitions & Underwriting
Underwrite potential multifamily acquisitions using institutional-quality Excel models.Create and maintain Excel or Yardi models comparing underwriting assumptions to actual results; update models for older deals without current files.Conduct market research, including rent and sales comparable, vacancy and absorption trends, and demographic studies.Perform detailed rent roll analyses, monitor lease rollovers, and track follow-up items.Analyze historical property financials, budgets, leases, loan agreements, and expenses.Assist in sourcing opportunities, managing due diligence, and supporting transaction closings.Prepare investment committee materials and financial analysis.Valuations & Portfolio Analysis
Update quarterly portfolio valuations, including waterfalls.Organize and present data analyses, draw objective conclusions, and make recommendations.Experience Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; emphasis in Real Estate preferred1–3 years of relevant experience in real estate, ideally in acquisitions, underwriting, or investment analysis.Familiarity with Class A / B assets and value-add or core / core-plus strategies.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly in real estate investment modeling and valuation.Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong multi-tasking capabilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to internal teams and external partners.
