About The Position

Job Title : Level 2 Registered Nurse - ICU Stepdown

Profession : Registered Nurse

Specialty : Neuromusculoskeletal

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Rotating Shift Schedule - Days / Evenings / Nights, Weekends, Holidays, On-Call / Callback / Charge as needed

Hours per Shift : 12.0

Experience : Two years of experience required

License : RN License (New York License only)

Certifications : BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association only)

Must-Have :

Must have stepdown or PCU experience

High acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience required

Telemetry experience required

Experience with neuro checks, external ventricular drains, lumbar drains, subdural drains, 3% saline and Cardene drips, arterial lines, carotid endarterectomy, aneurysm coil / clips, Deep Brain Stimulator insertion, ventricular-peritoneal shunts, and seizures

Description :

The Level 2 Registered Nurse is responsible for providing competent care based on established standards.

The nurse will work under the direction of the Nurse Manager.

The Level 2 Registered Nurse may assume an expanded role, including charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.

Candidates must have experience in stepdown or progressive care units.

The role requires specific skills and experience with high acuity medical conditions.

Flexibility in scheduling is a requirement to meet unit needs.
