American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric CVICU night shift position requiring a compact or NC RN license and strong pediatric cardiac ICU experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a Level 1 pediatric trauma, teaching hospitalUnit has 20 beds divided into two sides with centralized nurses stationServes patients ages 0-18 with congenital heart conditions, post-surgical recovery, transplant, ECMO, Impella, dialysis, and AquadexNurse to patient ratio varies by acuity : 2 : 1, 1 : 1, or 1 : 2Shifts are 12 hours, nights (1900-0700), on a 6-week schedule cycleWeekend rotation required every other weekend or as needed (Fri / Sat / Sun)Travelers are scheduled to work 75% of holidaysFloating to PICU, NICU, and General Pediatrics as neededUses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Phillips monitorsNo on-call or call-back requirementsExpected to provide specialized care for critically ill pediatric cardiac patients, including those on advanced cardiac support devicesStrong multi-disciplinary support including 24 / 7 RT, intensivist, and cardiology coverage, as well as IV / VAT team and health care technician assistanceOrientation includes NEO and 2 days of departmental trainingMust wear navy scrubsParking is freeTeam-oriented culture focused on trust and accountabilityFirst-time travelers welcome to applyTime off (RTO) must be approved by the managerMust be able to float to other pediatric units as needed\n \n Requirements\n
Active NC or Compact RN license requiredBLS and PALS certifications required; NIHSS requiredMinimum 2 years recent Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience in a similar acuity facilityExperience caring for fresh open heart post-op pediatric patients and pediatric transplant cases requiredProficiency operating Aquadex, Impella, ECMO devices requiredEpic charting experience requiredMust reside at least 50 miles from the assigned unit\n Benefits\n
