American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Belleville, Illinois.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with an active IL license and recent ICU experience for a day shift position.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in the ICU of an acute care hospital
  • Day shifts, 3x12 hours, from 6 : 45 to 19 : 15
  • Assignment is 13 weeks in duration
  • Nurse to patient ratios are 1 : 2
  • Floating may be required to IMCU or other ICU settings at the main hospital or affiliate hospital
  • Must work every third weekend and every other holiday
  • EPIC is the charting system used for documentation
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Responsibilities include critical care interventions, assisting with advanced procedures, and managing complex patient needs
  • Hospital is Magnet recognized and has 222 staffed beds
  • Scrub color requirement is navy
  • Pre-employment fit testing required; facial hair must allow for proper fit
  • No RTO allowed during the first week of assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO for the 13-week contract
  • Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers can remain up to 18 months but must take a three-month break after 18 months
  • Parking is provided at no cost

    • Requirements

  • Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years recent ICU nursing experience required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Experience with EPIC documentation system preferred
  • Experience assisting with line insertion, intubation, hypothermia protocols, CRRT / CVVHD, and IABP required
  • No pending licenses accepted for Illinois; license must be in hand
  • Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
