Equipment Engineer – Actalent
Job Description
Responsible for all equipment installations, modifications, plant engineering support, and project engineering. This role will primarily be in the melt shop part of the facility.
Responsibilities
- Project engineering : Experience with streamlined Project Management workflows; conducting FEL studies, preliminary evaluation, project design, cost estimation, cost control, work with Engineering for capital project development, evaluation, project scheduling and coordination, installation and debugging.
- Engineering : Analyze repetitive equipment failures and design solutions to reduce maintenance costs; evaluate alternatives; assess needs for equipment replacements and establish replacement programs; assess required maintenance tools and skills; assess safety hazards associated with all plant equipment; analyze equipment performance relative to production requirements; implement designs or practice changes through hands-on involvement; responsible for training full-time employees, contractors, and agency employees; assist with other duties as assigned by Management.
- Management : Work with the assigned Plant Maintenance Area to develop and recommend budget; develop short and long-range operating objectives; assure training and development needs are identified and programs initiated; ensure company values, policies, and programs are consistently practiced.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Additional training in Project Engineering and / or Project Management.3-5 years of progressive experience in project engineering roles in a heavy industrial environment.Working knowledge of general plant construction practices, building construction, installation of equipment, etc.Knowledge of OSHA and general EPA regulations.Must be available for emergencies and work off-shift hours as needed.Experience in the chemical, steel, or cement industry is ideal.Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.48 – $50.48 / hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Nashville, TN.
