Job Description
This position will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development, and maintenance of best‑in‑class software experiences. The candidate is a self‑motivated individual who collaborates with a team and across the organization. The role requires adherence to U.S. Bank standards, agile software development lifecycle, and DevOps principles.
Essential Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, operate, and maintain products.
- Take full‑stack ownership by consistently writing production‑ready and testable code.
- Create optimal designs adhering to architectural best practices; consider scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Analyze failures, propose design changes, and encourage operational improvements.
- Make sound design / coding decisions keeping customer experience in the forefront.
- Takes feedback from code review and apply changes to meet standards.
- Conduct code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures.
- Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices.
- Exhibit relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards.
- Embrace emerging technology opportunities and contribute to best practices in support of the bank’s technology transformation.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.Two to three years of relevant experience.Preferred Skills / Experience
Experience building complex applications with React (18.x).Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+) patterns and best practices.Proficiency with ESLint, Prettier, and code quality tools.Experience with state management libraries (specifically Zustand and React Context).Experience with micro frontends architecture, module federation, design tokens and themeable UI components.CSS / SCSS : Advanced styling skills using modular CSS / SCSS, and CSS modules.Familiarity with MFA integration.Web APIs : Experience with RESTful APIs integration, Axios, and handling asynchronous operations.Financial UI Components : Experience with form controls specific to financial applications (currency inputs, account number fields, etc.).Knowledge of Java and Spring Boot desirable.Payment Systems : Knowledge of payment processing workflows (domestic / international wires, ACH, RTP) is highly desirable.Security Practices : Understanding of frontend security best practices for financial applications.Experience with Jest and React Testing Library for unit and integration testing.Familiarity with Playwright for automated browser testing.Knowledge of WCAG standards and accessible UI development.Version Control : Git workflow experience in enterprise environments.CI / CD : Experience with automated deployment pipelines (Jenkins).Understanding of internationalization and localization for global banking applications.Location Expectations
The role offers a hybrid / flexible schedule, with an in‑office expectation of three or more days per week and flexibility to work remotely for the remaining days.
