Description : Summary :
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Co-op student to join our team. This position provides hands-on experience in preparing corporate, personal, and trust tax returns, assisting with tax planning, and working on compliance-related projects. You'll gain exposure to various tax engagements and develop foundational skills needed for a career in tax and public accounting. This role is specifically available for UVM GSB students.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare personal, corporate, and trust income tax returns
- Assist with preparation of tax and government filings
- Support tax planning initiatives and research tax issues using internal and external resources
- Prepare and maintain tax working papers and documentation in compliance with firm standards
- Assist with correspondence to clients
- Ensure deadlines are met and work is completed with accuracy and attention to detail
- collaborate with senior staff on client engagements and participate in tax season activities
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements
Qualifications :
Enrolled in a Bachelor of Accounting program (3rd or 4th year preferred)Strong interest in pursuing a CPA designationProficient in Microsoft Excel, WordExcellent organizational and time-management skills, especially during busy seasonStrong written and verbal communication skillsDetail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamWorking Conditions :
