Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager with hospital discharge planning and utilization review experience for a fast-paced ortho / neuro surgical unit, requiring an active VA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

Position is in the Case Management department of an acute inpatient hospital

Focus on ortho / neuro surgical patient population

Primary duties include discharge planning and managing multiple admissions and discharges daily

Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts, weekdays with some weekends and holiday coverage

EPIC charting system experience is required

Casual business attire is required

Responsibilities include case management, discharge planning, and utilization review in a high-volume surgical unit

Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent patient transitions

Holiday coverage may be required as part of the rotation

Pre-employment fit testing is required; PAPR accommodations are not available

Three hours of pre-start online modules are required

Two professional references are required for consideration

First-time travelers will be considered if all requirements are met

Time off requests must be submitted for approval during the application process

Requirements

Active VA or compact RN license in hand is required

Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in an inpatient acute care hospital

Prior utilization review and discharge planning experience required

BLS certification via the American Heart Association is required

CCM or ACM certification is preferred

EPIC experience is required

Travel RN experience is preferred

Must have a clean license and background with no prior hits

Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility
