Data Architect

Summit Technologies Inc. is seeking a skilled Data Architect to drive enterprise analytics initiatives using the Microsoft data ecosystem. This role blends hands-on data science with leadership responsibilities. You will guide a team delivering scalable, secure, and actionable insights with tools like SQL Server, SSIS, Power BI, and Active Directory.

The Digital Transformation Team provides engineering solutions in support of a federal agency’s Information Technology Infrastructure Operations Department (ITIOD). This Hybrid position requires working 3 days per week onsite in Washington, DC. Candidates must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and deployment of predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
• Architect and optimize SQL Server databases and SSIS ETL pipelines for performance and scalability.
• Develop and oversee Power BI dashboards, ensuring alignment with business KPIs.
• Manage secure data access and compliance using Active Directory roles and policies.
• Develop and support SSIS / ETL jobs and SQL Server databases pertaining to agency objectives, public programs, education, research, and other initiatives.
• Mentor junior Data Scientists and Analysts, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data-driven strategies.
• Establish best practices for data governance, quality assurance, and model lifecycle management.
• Communicate insights through compelling visualizations and executive-ready storytelling.
