Pathologist Assistant 10hr Day Shift

Location : Saranac Lake, New York

Pay : $95$100 per hour (W2)

Shift : 10-hour Day Shift

Specialty : AH Laboratory

Duration : 13+ Weeks with possible extension

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pathologist Assistant to join our healthcare team in Saranac Lake, NY. The ideal candidate will provide professional support to the Pathology Department by assisting pathologists in the gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens and performing autopsy procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative laboratory environment with a strong focus on patient care and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical tissue specimens under the supervision of a pathologist.
  • Assist with autopsies, including dissection, specimen collection, and documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with lab standards.
  • Ensure specimens are properly labeled, preserved, and processed according to lab protocols.
  • Maintain laboratory instruments and ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with pathologists, technicians, and other lab staff to ensure smooth workflow.

    • Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree from a NAACLS-accredited Pathologist Assistant program .
  • ASCP certification as a Pathologists Assistant (PA) required.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in surgical pathology or a related laboratory setting preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
