Security Officer - Government Building Unarmed Patrol

As a Security Officer - Government Building Unarmed Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.

As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a prominent government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remaining highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, assisting with access control, and providing outstanding customer service and communication. This is a driving post, where you will be responsible for both patrolling on foot and operating a vehicle as needed. Pay Rate : $18.02 / Hour

Job Schedule :

Day Time Mon 09 : 30 AM - 06 : 00 PM

Tue 09 : 30 AM - 06 : 00 PM

Wed 09 : 30 AM - 06 : 00 PM

Thur 09 : 30 AM - 06 : 00 PM

Fri 09 : 30 AM - 06 : 00 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting a secure environment at the government location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, security-related hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
  • Assist visitors and employees by providing information and directions as needed, maintaining a professional presence.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal management and local law enforcement as required during incidents or emergencies.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A minimum of one year of security-related experience is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and client requires proof of completion.
  • Access control and / or badge experience is required.
  • Customer service experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
