Overview
Construction Estimator to support projects involving medical and industrial radiation shielding. The role collaborates with finance, procurement, design, engineers, and the sales team to produce accurate and timely construction estimates from conceptual through full development, aligned with the company mission and core values.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze construction drawings, specifications, and project documents for medical and industrial projects.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, takeoffs, and bid proposals for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Prepare estimates at different levels of completion (conceptual, schematic, design development, construction drawings, etc.).
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
- Collaborate with design team, project managers, engineers, architects, physicists, and clients to develop accurate and cost-effective budgets.
- Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize costs without sacrificing quality or safety.
- Track project budgets and maintain a historical database of commercial construction costs.
- Stay current on market trends, construction materials, labor rates, and industry regulations.
- Present final bids and estimates to leadership and participate in client bid reviews.
- Provide timely, detailed responses to support winning bids and maintain customer satisfaction.
Communication and Teamwork
Understand product features and benefits and communicate effectively to all stakeholders.Review quotes and estimates with sales, design team, physicists, and project team.Maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.Develop leadership, motivation, and communication with owners, subs, and project teams.Promote a high level of customer satisfaction and resolve customer issues promptly.Participate in cross-functional team initiatives and stand as a brand ambassador.Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of commercial construction, project management, cost estimating experience.Degree in Construction Technology, Business, or related field preferred or equivalent experience.Knowledge of construction methods, cost estimating, and engineering principles; ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contracts.Experience on million-dollar, multi-disciplinary projects in medical, industrial, or manufacturing spaces.Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, MS Project); experience with estimating software and CRM systems (HubSpot preferred).Strong leadership, analytical and mathematical skills; ability to solve problems creatively and drive results.Effective interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with customers and stakeholders at all levels.Strong prioritization and organizational skills; ability to operate independently and in a team environment.Professional integrity and ethical behavior.Flexibility to perform duties as assigned; high level of initiative and teamwork.Physical requirements : sit, hear, talk, and dexterity; ability to stand, walk, bend; vision requirements (near, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception).Benefits and Why Join
