The Opportunity

This position is based in our St. Paul, MN location within the Structural Heart medical device division. Our mission is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease.

The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for managing, supervising, and directing overall production and engineering activities for assigned operational areas. This role ensures organizational effectiveness and oversees operations and engineering management.

What You'll Work On

  • Manage supervisors and other manufacturing personnel to measure and achieve targeted production and attainment goals.
  • Manage engineers to achieve targeted quality, yield, and continuous improvement (CIP) goals.
  • Meet demand plan, quality, efficiency, and budget objectives for respective product lines.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain, and R&D to provide necessary resources, equipment, and organizational structure to meet demand plans, support new product introductions, and engineering builds.
  • Ensure compliance with the Division Quality Policy for all manufacturing personnel, operations, and engineering.
  • Provide strategic direction to align manufacturing and engineering functions with long-term strategic plans.
  • Maintain full budget responsibility and profit / loss (P&L) cost target objectives.
  • Provide technical support and expertise as needed to solve problems and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Justify and approve capital expenses for equipment replacement, capacity increases, and operational enhancements.
  • Hire and retain a diverse, highly qualified staff and provide ongoing performance feedback. Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
  • Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related work experience with increasing levels of responsibility, including at least 5 years as a direct manager / supervisor in operations or engineering management.
  • Experience in catheter manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of operational tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement, with demonstrated success in achieving effective financial results.
  • Knowledge of medical device manufacturing or other regulated industries that adhere to strict policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff and major projects or initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise / cross-division business unit model preferred.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide constructive feedback to build positive relationships and improve business results.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels within the organization.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills, with the ability to hold others accountable.
  • Ability to travel approximately 5%, including internationally.

    The base pay for this position is $127,300.00 $254,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
