Position Type : Semester-based adjunct appointment, with the possibility of renewal depending on enrollment needs and performance.
Primary Purpose : Teach assigned online Physics and Astronomy courses, including labs, in accordance with established course outlines and the published schedule.
Essential Responsibilities
Prepare and teach assigned courses in Physics and Astronomy.
Deliver all courses fully online, including labs.
Maintain accurate student records and submit all required college reports in a timely manner.
Collaborate with colleagues and administrators in program planning, assessment, and continuous improvement processes.
Prepare, review, and update course outlines regularly.
Recommend and assist with curriculum revisions as needed.
Assist with the selection and ordering of equipment, supplies, and textbooks.
Support student retention and success through timely communication and feedback.
Cooperate in scheduled student evaluations of instructor and courses.
Attend instructor and departmental meetings as scheduled.
Maintain professional competence through ongoing professional development.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following :
Additional Requirements : Ability to use computers and instructional technologies, including course management systems, word processing, email, Internet, and student information systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous community college teaching experience .
Demonstrated online teaching experience .
