We're looking for a dependable and safety-focused Truck Driver / Shop Assistant to join our team. In this dual-role position, you'll safely transport freight and equipment using Class A commercial vehicles while assisting with hands-on operations in our transload and truck repair shop. Your Role : Drive, Assist, and Learn

Delivering excellence on the road and in the shop every day.

  • Local Freight Transport - Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport freight, equipment, and containers within the local area.
  • Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance - Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections, complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR), refuel trucks, and check oil and fluid levels.
  • Freight Handling - Hook and unhook containers, operate landing gear safely, open and close container doors, and prepare containers for delivery.
  • Compliance & Documentation - Maintain accurate Hours of Service (HOS) logs and comply with all DOT, FMCSA, and safety regulations.
  • Shop Support - Assist mechanics with routine shop tasks such as tool handling, parts organization, and basic maintenance activities.
  • Operational Efficiency - Support transload operations through container preparation, equipment handling, and general shop upkeep.
  • Learning & Development - Gain hands-on mechanical experience and apply safety practices for ongoing growth and advancement within the logistics industry.

What You Bring to the Team

A commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous learning.

  • Education - High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licenses & Certifications - Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) , current
  • Medical Examiner's Certificate , and an acceptable driving record required.
  • Experience - Minimum 2 years of experience as a Commercial Class A driver; prior experience in a mechanic shop environment preferred.
  • Skills & Knowledge -

    • Strong safety awareness and adherence to regulations.

  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic truck maintenance.
  • Effective communication with dispatchers, customers, and co-workers.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Dependable work ethic and teamwork orientation.

    Working Environment

    This role requires work that may involve the following environmental conditions :

  • Freight warehouse facility, office, outdoor yard and lot, and workshop settings, where hot, humid, cold, and other inclement weather conditions may occur.
