Description
The Production Painter works primarily in the paint room and paint booth to paint, stain, and clear-
coat various products. This team member will be expected to produce consistent quality in all paint,
stain, and clear coating. The painter will be responsible for maintaining the equipment used in the
paint room and the cleanliness of the paint room and paint booth. The painter will primarily paint
products made from : hard wood, wood products such as MDF, plywood, HDU, Gatorfoam, plastics,
and enamel receptive vinyl using a gravity feed compressed air spray gun.
This team member must read and understand engineered shop drawings. The fabrication painter will
be responsible for ordering primer, paint, clear coat, and stain that is to be successfully applied on
products and in retail spaces for our partners. The painter will strive to be innovative and cost-
effective in different application techniques and final solutions that may pertain to different types of
material as well as the desired look or outcome.
This team member may be asked to assist in other Manufacturing departments and on installs.
He / She may also be asked to travel Nationally to job sites 1-2 weeks at a time to include a variety of
schedules and shifts, up to six times a year.
Qualifications
- Full knowledge of painting techniques, spray gun painting, staining, and clear coating
- Valid Utah drivers license and a clean driving record
- Current DOT medical card (may be obtained after hiring)
- Possess working knowledge and ability to use current technology & tools as they relate topaint and manufacturing
- Knowledge and experience in the manufacturing industry. Wood shop or constructionexperience is also helpful.
- Ability to prioritize and complete work within defined time frames to meet deadlines
- Must be able to update project status in current project management software
- Must be familiar with current industry pricing regarding paint and painting supplies and able to
- purchase or order materials in collaboration with the Estimator to ensure project profitability
- and cost effectiveness.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, in English
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Must treat team members, partners, and vendors with respect and conduct all business with
- integrity.
