• Support Staff : Surgical techs in OR, Transplant Administrator, Transplant Coordinators (all BSNs), Transplant Multidisc team as required by CMS; NP available (IP)
• Duties :
• Transplant Call, screening / accepting / declining deceased donor kidneys
• Collaborate w / the on-call Transplant Coordinator to bring transplant candidate in for potential transplant
• Rounding on transplant patients in the hospital less than 90 days from transplant in collaboration w / the Transplant Nephrologist.
• Collaborate w / IP staff, Tx Nephrologist & Tx NP can assist w / IP throughput (Transplant admin & coordinators can assist in navigating transplant candidate throughout. Coordinators call patients in for transplants but do not triage sick calls on acute transplant.
• Required Procedures :
• Kidney Transplant w / o Recipient Nephrectomy
• Preferred : Lap donor nephrectomy
• Trauma Level : I
• EMR : Epic
• Other Info :
• Locum is welcome to attend the weekly Selection Committee meeting.
• Locum does not need to supervise NP.
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered
Requirements :
• VT License
• BC / BE
• ASTS Certified (Transplant Surgery)
• BLS, ACLS
