Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented MEP Surveyor to join our Dallas team. The MEP Surveyor will be responsible for providing accurate layout, measurement, and verification of MEP systems on construction projects. This role supports project teams by ensuring installations are aligned with design specifications, industry standards, and project requirements.

This is a mid-level position suited for individuals with some field experience in MEP construction, surveying, or layout who are ready to take the next step in their career.

Essential Duties

Perform field layout, measurement, and verification of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Use total stations, laser equipment, and other digital layout tools to ensure precise placement of MEP systems.

Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and VDC / BIM teams to coordinate layouts with digital models and drawings.

Verify as-built conditions and document field changes for project records.

Support quality control by ensuring installations meet design intent, specifications, and tolerances.

Maintain survey equipment and ensure accuracy through regular calibration.

Assist in training and supporting project teams in layout practices.

Adhere to all company safety standards and best practices.

Minimum Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in MEP layout, surveying, or related construction roles.
  • Working knowledge of MEP systems and construction methods.
  • Experience with survey / layout tools (e.g., total stations, Trimble, laser alignment).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and BIM models.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with field and office teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or associate degree in construction technology, engineering, or related field preferred.
