Innovate—use Rockwell Automation, AutoCAD, and other modern engineering tools to bring machines and systems to life. Deliver results—ensure smooth project handoffs, provide training to plant personnel, deliver documentation, and ensure systems are fully operational. Lead & mentor—guide and develop technicians, contractors, and junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment. Ensure excellence—drive compliance with safety, legal, and regulatory standards while delivering efficient, reliable, and maintainable solutions. Improve continuously—champion process improvement initiatives to optimize engineering performance and support long-term innovation. Strong technical skills with electrical and controls engineering tools (Rockwell Automation suites, AutoCAD, etc.) Proven ability to manage projects and lead cross-functional teams Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), or ability to earn within 18 months Ability to travel up to 25% Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field Prior experience in machine controls engineering, preferably within the food or high-volume manufacturing industry Expertise in HMI development, PLC / PAC programming, motion control, and machine vision Experience managing direct reports and / or leading engineering teams
Overview
This is a Controls Engineer role focused on electrical controls and automation for large-scale production operations. The position involves designing, developing, and delivering cutting-edge solutions to support process automation, capacity expansion, and new product innovation. You will lead teams and contribute to the future of manufacturing technology.
Base pay range
$80,000.00 / yr - $120,000.00 / yr
Location : Hayward, MN. Travel : Up to 25%.
