About the Role

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This position manages day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger entries, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial statement preparation. The Staff Accountant plays a key role in month-end and year-end closing processes, cost accounting, and audit support. Ideal candidates will have strong knowledge of GAAP, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced business environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to support effective financial management and reporting
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls to strengthen financial decision-making
  • Prepare and present accurate financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss reports
  • Manage general ledger activities including journal entries and account categorization
  • Perform cost accounting tasks and assist with financial analysis across departments
  • Reconcile bank accounts and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy of transactions
  • Support accounts receivable collections and manage accounts payable including invoice verification and processing
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and perform accurate depreciation calculations
  • Provide documentation and account details during external audits
  • Collaborate with technology providers to improve accounting systems and software functionality
  • Assist with compliance reporting to banking institutions and regulatory agencies
  • Support payroll processing as a backup, including report preparation
  • Allocate expenses according to company procedures and maintain detailed records
  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes including preparation of supporting schedules
  • Stay updated on current accounting practices, procedures, and GAAP requirements
  • Complete additional tasks as needed to support the finance team

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of three years of experience in accounting or finance roles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software
  • Strong understanding of financial and cost accounting principles
  • Knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
