Sunrift Adventures is a locally owned outdoor outfitter in Travelers Rest, founded in 1980. The store carries top quality gear for hiking, biking, paddling, climbing, camping, and more—brands such as Patagonia, The North Face, Mountain Hardwear—and is guided by a staff that loves the outdoors and enjoys helping customers find the perfect gear.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist customers with enthusiasm; listen to their needs and advise them on gear, apparel, and outdoor equipment.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of products (backpacks, tents, hiking boots, kayaks, apparel, etc.), including features, fit, and performance.
Process transactions at the register; handle payments, returns, and exchanges accurately and with excellent customer service.
Organize, restock, and merchandise displays to keep the store clean, inviting, and well-stocked—seasonally rotate inventory.
Assist with inventory counts, receiving and unpacking shipments, and tracking product levels.
Support rental operations (bikes, boats, SUPs) as needed; help maintain and clean rental gear.
Participate in team meetings, trainings, and outdoor events as needed (store demos, community outreach).
Uphold Sunrift’s values of outdoorsmanship, environmental awareness, and community support through positive attitude and actions.
Requirements
Friendly, energetic, with strong communication and listening skills.
Passionate about the outdoors; experience or comfort with outdoor gear is a plus.
Detail-oriented; able to multitask and work efficiently even during busy times.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Able to lift equipment (e.g. boxes or gear) up to moderate weight (e.g. 40-50 lbs) safely.
Comfortable standing for long periods and moving around the store.
