JOB SUMMARY
AACPS Triple E initiative embraces an engaging and meaningful instructional platform. Through Project-Based Learning (PBL), the teachers provide transdisciplinary lessons that are authentic. Teachers become facilitators of learning as student choice is recognized in teaching and learning that actively explores real-world problems and challenges. Instructional practices are rigorous, relevant, and motivating.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides PBL instruction.
- Includes transdisciplinary connections in instructional design.
- Utilizes integrated technology / web-based resources to excite and extend learning.
- Attends and actively participates in system-based professional development to stay current with trends, STEM research and methodology in instructional techniques, technology, multicultural content, technology, problem solving, transdisciplinary learning / interdisciplinary connections, and student-led educational platforms.
- Collection and analysis of data to inform program evaluation.
- Maintains good public relations with grade level colleagues / community partners.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required.Experience
Three (3) years successful classroom teaching experience or experience in a related field required.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
Knowledge of current trends, research in field of specialization and methodology in instructional techniques.Knowledge of school organization, goals and objectives with special emphasis on teacher techniques.Demonstrated leadership qualities as a member of a school staff / office.Ability to employ a variety of teaching styles to respond to the needs of diverse learners.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with professional colleagues, staff, students and parents.Knowledge of and experience with the functionality of google-based products.Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video / Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Outlook, and / or PowerPoint preferred).Licenses and Certifications
Employee must retain active licenses, certifications, and enrollment as a condition of employment.
Hold or be eligible for Educator Certification : Professional Certificate appropriate to the assigned teaching content area issued by Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) required; orHold or be eligible for Educator License : Initial Professional License (IPL) issued by Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS
