Plant Engineering Manager, Moncure, NC
Arclin USA is seeking talent for a Plant Engineering Manager for our flagship facility in Moncure, NC location. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for specifications and design of plant facilities, controls and equipment for the Arclin Production Facilities that will achieve the desired result in the most cost-efficient manner while enhancing the environment, safety, quality, and long-term profitability of the facility.
Responsibilities
- The Plant Engineering Manager will reinforce safety and environmental requirements and expectations for all site employees, and will hold themselves and others accountable to same.
- The Plant Engineering Manager is the owner of and is accountable for all plant assets; responsible for controlling, tracking and reporting spending of the capital budget and all maintenance expense accounts.
- Functions as a project manager for capital projects.
- Communicates with internal and external customers to ensure project plans and work in progress will meet desired outcomes.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Supervises all resources in the maintenance department.
- Analyzes and plans maintenance work force utilization, predictive / preventative maintenance, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Provide technical advice on plant operations and improvements. Prepares engineering analysis of projects that includes preliminary design, detailed design, project cost analysis, life cycle cost analysis and equipment selection.
- Develop, evaluate and improve the manufacturing controls and automation utilizing knowledge of instrumentation, controls & automation, product design, materials, chemicals, and production equipment capabilities.
- Leverage automation and controls to eliminate ergonomic impacts.
- Leverage automation and controls to institutionalize consistencies in production.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or better in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.5-10+ years plant maintenance / engineering / project engineering experience in chemical or paper manufacturing.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently; Recent site budget capital levels up to $4MM.Programmable Logic Control, Distributive Process Controls Systems (DeltaV), HMI and Automation control systemsAB RS Logix 5 / 500 / 5000, Control Logix, Powerflex drive, HMI / SCADA, I-Fix, ParcView and DeltaV Batch
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated record of leadership, teamwork, adaptability, innovation and initiative.Ability to work well with all levels of personnel throughout the facility and the company.Ability to operate safely in a manufacturing environment; this may include, but is not limited to potentially lifting up to 20 lbs, standing for extended periods of time bending, crouching, stooping, rotating, climbing stairs, or any combination of the aforementioned.Preferred
Experience in TPM, 6 Sigma, Lean, 5SRegistered as a Professional EngineerExperience in PSM program implementation and maintenanceEducation & Experience
