Job Description & Requirements Specialty : PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care Discipline : RN Start Date : 12 / 01 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Unit Description Location : Orange, CA Unit Type : PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) Beds : 42 Patient Population : Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents Common Diagnoses : Critical care for ages birth–18 years including metabolic, respiratory, endocrinology, oncology, neurosurgical, cardiac, and Level I trauma cases. Special Procedures : Conscious sedation, CRRT, ECMO Staffing Ratios : Typically 1 : 1–1 : 2 depending on acuity Systems : Medication : Pyxis Documentation : Cerner Communication : SBAR / 5P Provider Coverage : In-house 24 / 7 (Intensivists, Hospitalists, NPs, Residents, Fellows) Schedule : 12-hour shifts; float required (primarily to NICU / CVICU); every other weekend Certifications Required : BLS, ACLS, PALS Preferred : APHON, CPHON, NIHSS, NRP Experience Required : Minimum 1.5–2 years in high-acuity / high-census PICUs (hard stop) Prior academic or large facility experience preferred Extensions in past contracts are a plus Key Skills : Ventilator and airway management Hemodynamic and cardiac monitoring ECMO, CRRT Sedation and vasoactive drips Post-cardiac, neuro, and trauma care Traveler Requirements : Must be seasoned travelers; first-time travelers not accepted.
