Position Overview
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist supports sourcing initiatives and develops cost-reduction strategies for various service lines. This role focuses on optimizing vendor performance, ensuring quality products, and executing sourcing strategies to lower costs and meet benchmark pricing standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to department management on sourcing priorities and initiatives.
- Negotiate local and national purchasing agreements to achieve best-value outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with end users, vendors, GPOs, and distribution partners.
- Evaluate operational and contractual conditions to ensure compliance with sourcing award strategies and procurement requests (RFx).
- Maintain measurable performance metrics for all contracting activities.
- Research alternative suppliers to strengthen supply chain resiliency.
- Conduct periodic evaluations of supplier performance to ensure service benchmarks are met.
- Collaborate with Legal Counsel to resolve or prevent contractual concerns.
- Exercise independent judgment to solve non-routine sourcing issues under general supervision.
