We are looking for a diligent Home Improvement Project Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for handyman & general contracting projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics while building relationships with clients, the community, and partners. Your knowledge of cost and benefits will support profitable business decisions. The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset. You must be thorough and apt in managing relationships with key persons. The goal is to provide detailed reports so the company can make informed decisions that will enhance its profitability and growth.
Home Improvement Project Estimator responsibilities :
Understand the project / program and its requirementsDetermine key variables for cost and other estimatesGather first-hand information from sites, warehouses, or other venuesConduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, etc.Use software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgetingObtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendorsPerform risk analysisCreate and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons (project managers, clients, bidding competitions, etc.)Build relationships with clients, technicians, key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.)Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs, etc.)Home Improvement Project Estimator requirements :
Proven experience as a construction / trades estimator or similar positionFamiliarity with financial and project management principlesIn-depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulasExquisite math and IT ability with an analytical mindsetProficient in relevant estimating softwareOutstanding communication, sales, and negotiation abilitiesThoroughness and reliabilityExcellent organizational skillsBS / BA in engineering, construction science, or relevant discipline preferredCertified Professional Estimator (CPE) will be an assetCompensation : $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
