Physical Therapist for Patient Rehabilitation

Job Summary

The Physical Therapist plans, conducts and evaluates medically prescribed physical therapy to help patients with injuries or diseases recover their optimal level of function and independence. This involves organizing and conducting therapy programs that may include exercises, manual therapy, heat, water, light and electricity as directed by the physician.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities :

• Conduct initial evaluations, re-evaluations and record patient progress for review by other members of the rehabilitation team.
• Direct and aide patients in active and passive exercises, muscle reeducation and gait training using machines and weights.
• Treat patients with injuries or conditions such as burns, open wounds or mobility issues.
• Apply diagnostic and prognostic tests for muscles, nerves and joints.
• Make use of equipment such as ultrasound machines, whirlpools and contrast baths.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

High School Diploma

Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT)

Licensed Physical Therapist

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Certification in Pelvic Health
