Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit as specific to the scope of service.
Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure integration of information for use by the healthcare team.
Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops an appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs.
Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
Modifies plan of care based on continuous evaluation.
Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and / or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
Communicates directly and privately to resolve issues when necessary.
Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers.
Confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base.
Identifies own learning needs and takes initiative to address appropriate solutions.
Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies.
Evaluates and enhances nursing practice by utilizing the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope and Standards of Practice to provide direct 1 : 1 patient care to adult patients undergoing a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Administers moderate sedation and other medications safely.
Performs hemodynamic monitoring and identifies potential life-threatening arrhythmias while implementing appropriate clinical treatment.
Collaborates with patients and families to answer questions and provide emotional support when needed.
Enhances patient care activities and acts as a safety advocate through participation in ongoing department quality improvement and evidence-based practice projects.
Coordinates safe care delivery through effective communication with a multi-disciplinary team.
Recognizes and adapts to potential changes in procedures while responding to emergent situations.
Participates in a supportive and collaborative environment while working as part of a cohesive team comprised of RNs and Radiology Technologists.
Administers medications necessary for procedures.
Manages care of patients during moderate sedation.
Monitors hemodynamics throughout procedures.
Provides thorough documentation of procedures.
Understands use of supplies and equipment used in various procedures.
