Job Summary
Under general supervision, is responsible for customer service activities in a particular department, involving the handling of requests and / or complaints regarding City services. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment. Exercises no supervision. Work Location Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center - 900 E. Market Street, San Antonio, TX 78205 Work Schedule Schedules will vary with shifts being subject to change to include days, nights, weekends, rotating shifts, and holiday shift work schedules as dictated by business needs.
Essential Job Functions
- Answers telephone, takes information, refers calls to proper departments.
- Provides information regarding city services, functions, attractions, transportation, schedules, etc.
- May greet tourists and visitors in person or by telephone and answers questions.
- Inputs data and maintains databases.
- Compiles and prepares information and reports as requested.
- May prepare badges and registration information.
- May collect money using various payment methods.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).One (1) year experience dealing with the public servicing client / customer requests.Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in providing highly satisfactory customer service.Excellent time management skills.Applicant Information
Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months.
