This is a mandatory requirement for employment. Food Preparation Experience : Prior experience in food preparation, preferably in a setting with dietary restrictions (e.g., healthcare, personal chef, allergy-aware cooking). Food Safety and Sanitation Knowledge : Knowledge of and commitment to strict food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe certification is preferred but not required). Attention to Detail : Ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes with precision. Reliable Transportation : Reliable transportation for grocery shopping and commuting to the client’s residence. Compassion, Patience, and Respect : Compassion, patience, and a respectful understanding of working with an individual with a disability. Organizational Skills : Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently. Pay : $14.25 - $14.50 per hour, based on experience. Schedule : Approximately 6-12 hours per week. Specific days and times are flexible and will be mutually agreed upon. This is a part-time, at-will position. Family Care : Managed care program for adults with disabilities or frail elders. IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct) : Self-directed care program for personalized support. PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) : Comprehensive care for seniors meeting nursing home criteria. EBD (Elderly, Blind, or Disabled) : Provides long-term care services based on eligibility criteria. COP (Community Options Program) : Offers home and community-based services for eligible individuals. Person-Centered Planning : Understands goals and needs to develop tailored care plans. Service Coordination : Navigates complex care system to connect with appropriate services. Advocacy : Ensures client voices are heard, rights respected, and choices honored. Monitoring and Evaluation : Regularly assesses care plan effectiveness and service delivery. Empowerment : Empowers individuals to make informed decisions and enhance independence.
Support Broker Services, LLC is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented individual to provide part-time food preparation services for a male client with a disability. This role is crucial in supporting his health and well-being by adhering strictly to a specialized diet prescribed by his healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities :
- Meal Planning and Preparation : Develop and execute meals and snacks tailored to the client’s specific dietary guidelines.
- Food Handling and Storage : Ensure the safe handling, storage, and cooking of all food items to prevent cross-contamination and maintain nutritional integrity.
- Grocery Shopping : Conduct grocery shopping for the client, carefully selecting items that comply with his dietary restrictions.
- Kitchen Maintenance : Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized kitchen environment.
- Client Accommodations : Accommodate the client’s preferences within the constraints of his dietary plan.
- Meal Tracking and Communication : Track meals prepared and communicate any issues or supply needs to the client’s support team.
