Your Responsibilities
Jointly responsible with the Project Manager for the overall success of the project. Responsible for meeting schedule, controlling costs, and managing manpower and equipment on assigned projects. Provide continuous hands-on field supervision of all construction operations, including subcontractors and other personnel. Direct planning, scheduling, and execution of work on time, within budget, and with high workmanship standards. Attain or exceed profit goals, promote workplace safety, meet owners' expectations, and promote a positive company image. Lead on-site project leadership and responsibility for operational success.
Qualifications
Experience and Employee Requirements :
10+ years of experience in Commercial Supervision of Ground Up and Fit Outs for a General Contractor
10+ years reading and interpreting drawings / blueprints
OSHA certifications
Valid driver's license with the ability to travel
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship
Ability to work additional hours to meet business plan goals
Skills :
Ability to quickly read and understand blueprints / plans
Very organized with strong attention to detail
Working knowledge of laptop, Microsoft Word, internet; Procore and Excel a plus
Ability to read and interpret drawings and verify layouts by subcontractors
Responsibilities
Perform project supervision under the direction of a Project Manager
Meet with Project Manager for project turnover
Attend pre-construction meetings, project progress meetings, and weekly safety and informational meetings
Lead the on-site team from construction start through project close
Monitor and ensure on-site safety, cleanliness, and orderliness
Proactively identify and help remedy design deficiencies, schedule concerns, and other issues
Maintaining the Schedule
Maintain or exceed the project schedule by providing a weekly 2-3 week look-ahead. Coordinate with subs to discuss inspections, milestones, and manpower. Ensure subs have equipment and materials to meet dates
Review progress and adjust schedules or request additional manpower as needed
Maintain current plans, specs, and submittal data (including revisions)
Inspect work in progress to ensure workmanship meets specifications and schedule
Maintain red-line drawings during project duration
Review contract documents and provide guidance on constructability
The ideal candidate will help consistently deliver projects on time and on budget, exceed client expectations, and maintain client relationships.
Key Candidate Qualities
5-10 years of Commercial Construction Superintendent experience with Retail, Big Box Retail, Restaurants, Medical Offices, Fitness, Health and Wellness, Dental, Urgent Care facilities, etc.
Excellent organizational, planning, and leadership skills; able to handle stress
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and team members
Excellent supervisory and analytical skills
Experience with Windows-based applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and scheduling packages
Must have a valid driver's license
Collaboration with PM to address constructability or scope during preconstruction
Understand project strategy, financial goals, scheduling, logistics, phasing, milestones, and inspections
Create and maintain 3-Week Look Ahead; align with Master CPM Schedule
Submit Daily Job and Incident reports
Knowledge of Procore is a plus
Maintain and review punch list process to ensure timely completion
