Core Responsibilities
- Develop embedded control systems for electromechanical components including pumps, motors, and sensors (e.g., temperature, weight, pressure)
- Use MATLAB tools (Simulink, Stateflow) for modeling and simulation of system behavior and control logic
- Define system-level requirements, produce design documentation, and lead verification test planning
- Design alarm logic, set safety thresholds, and build feedback mechanisms into system architectures
- Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshoot hardware / software integration issues
- Collaborate closely with hardware and software teams to align on development milestones and system performance goals
- Participate in rapid prototyping and hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Support the entire product development lifecycle—from concept to post-launch optimization
- Engage in systems-level thinking to ensure technical solutions align with clinical and user requirements
- Lead feasibility studies, explore alternative designs, and champion continuous improvement efforts
- Track dependencies, manage risks, and contribute to project scheduling activities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical, Software, or similar discipline)Minimum of 3 years’ industry experience in a systems, embedded, or controls engineering roleHands-on experience with control system design in embedded environmentsProficiency in model-based development using MATLAB, Simulink, and StateflowSolid understanding of control theory, including digital and non-linear systemsDemonstrated ability to write clear technical documentation and test protocolsStrong problem-solving capabilities, analytical thinking, and technical troubleshooting skillsProven collaboration skills and ability to contribute within cross-functional project teamsExcellent communication skills (both written and verbal)Preferred Background
