Job Title : Quality Technician

Job Description

As a Quality Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards. You will conduct quality inspections, document findings, and collaborate with the production team to ensure excellence in our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspections to ensure products and materials meet standards, prints, and specifications.
  • Conduct quality in-process and final inspections.
  • Document issues noticed during testing, measurement, or visual inspection.
  • Remove products that do not meet production standards.
  • Accept or reject finished products and discuss inspection results with the production team and Quality Engineers.
  • Serve as the primary quality resource to operations.
  • Interface with quality and operation representatives concerning quality problems.
  • Directly support Quality Engineer to adequately control the quality hold area and the disposition of materials and products.
  • Directly support Quality Engineer to evaluate causes of scrap and work toward the elimination of such defects.
  • Coordinate with Operations and direct associates on quality standards.
  • Ensure regular and reliable attendance at work.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in inspection, quality control, and quality assurance.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Basic operation of computer equipment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow inspection sheets and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to influence others to follow work instructions, rules, and regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills and teamwork mentality.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dexterity, physical strength, and physical stamina.
  • Conscientious and adaptable.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to stand for 8 hours and lift 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency with hand tools.
  • Proficiency in reading, speaking, and understanding English.

    Work Environment

    This position is based in a busy warehouse environment with high forklift traffic, subject to seasonal temperatures. You will be required to wear steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and vests as personal protective equipment (PPE). The role involves 10% office environment and 90% warehouse environment. The work is fast-paced and may be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. You will work in teams of 3-4 people or independently at workstations, building products ranging from the size of a computer to 6 or 7 feet tall. Standard attire includes jeans and steel-toed shoes, with a Monday to Friday schedule. Occasionally, work may be required after hours to avoid Saturdays.

    Job Type & Location

    This is a Contract position based out of Waterloo, Iowa.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00 / hr.
