General Position Description :
This position is responsible for managing and administering the
college-wide risk management program, including liability and
property / casualty insurance, contract risk assessment, and vendor
compliance. Conducts incident investigations and mitigation
efforts, ensures regulatory compliance, and develops and enforces
policies while providing training to promote consistent risk
management practices.

Primarily Remote : Employee performs the majority of job duties remotely and may occasionally work on site, based on operational needs with advance notice, when possible.

Description of Job Function :
1. Manages college-wide liability and property / casualty insurance programs. Coordinates program management and activities with the Florida College System Risk Management Consortium.

5. Partners with college departments to collect data, investigate claims, and develop processes related to student incidents, workers’ compensation, safety, injuries, and property loss.

Drivers License Requirement :
REQUIRED : Must possess valid Florida Driver’s License. Employee will be required to operate a college vehicle, including but not limited to on and between campuses and in the local community, in order to perform the essential job functions.
Required Minimum Education :
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution, or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and / or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions.
Required Field of Study :
Risk management, business, finance, public administration, or a related field.
Other Required Qualifications :
Two (2) years of experience related to the essential job functions.
Preferred Type of Experience :
Experience in enterprise risk management.
Preferred Licenses / Certification :
Associate in Risk Management (ARM) certification
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
1. Knowledge of the principles and practices of risk management, insurance, and contract compliance.
2. Knowledge of local, state and federal laws related to risk management, insurance coverage requirements, procurement, and building and life safety.
3. Knowledge of insurance. industry standards, coverage types, and best practices for setting appropriate limits in contractual agreements.
4. Skill in evaluating contractual risk exposure and determining insurance requirements that align with institutional risk tolerance.
5. Skill in the use of personal computers and general office software.
6. Ability to effectively communicate interpersonally, orally, and in writing.
7. Ability to conduct investigations, research related information, and prepare incident reports.
8. Ability to analyze a variety of data, draw valid conclusions, make determinations, prepare reports, and develop policies / best practices.
9. Ability to lead, manage, coach and evaluate employees.
General Working Conditions :
This job operates in a professional office environment and throughout the College’s worksites and grounds. Within the professional office environment, the employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet and occasionally moderate.
While operating outside of the office environment, the employee may be exposed to elements including but not limited to wet / humid weather, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and unpleasant odors. The role may also involve hazards or physical risks, which require comprehending and following basic safety precautions and may require Personal Protection Equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud. Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to remaining stationary, moving, ascending / descending, positioning self, reaching, lifting / moving objects weighing between 5-100 pounds.
