As a key member of the Department of Nursing leadership team and MWHC's executive team, the Vice President, Nursing Operations will drive the development and execution of the Department of Nursing Strategic Plan. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Nursing / Chief Nursing Executive, this leader will :
Key responsibilities include championing a patient-first culture focused on quality, safety, and the best patient experience, leading strategic planning, financial stewardship, and operational excellence for nursing services, collaborating on program development, new service lines, and resource allocation, and overseeing succession planning, recruitment, and professional growth of nursing leaders and teams.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (required); Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration (required). Experience includes 810 years of progressive leadership in nursing operations, including at least 57 years in senior administrative / managerial roles. Licensure / certifications include current RN license in the District of Columbia (required). Specialty certification in clinical specialty or Nursing Administration (within 1 year). CPR / BLS certification (within 90 days).
