Assistant Civil / Structural Engineer - Transmission & Distribution (Wallingford)

The Assistant Civil / Structural Engineer will work under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer to assist project teams in creating designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of facilities, including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government and military facilities. The engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting civil plans based on budget, design factors or client needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the civil / structural design of projects from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Assist with modifying and reviewing production drawings for projects including power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental / military facilities.
• Assist in designing civil / structural components to meet project needs and requirements set by project managers.
• Apply basic knowledge of civil / structural engineering concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures.
• Assist with researching and compiling project data, studies and reports as required by project managers.
• Assist with updating drawings provided by senior engineers and verify corrections in CAD-related software.
• Assist with client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration for the design of various facilities.
• Assist in performing field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

Compensation & Benefits

$71,500.00 - $110,000.00 Yearly

The expected compensation range is displayed in compliance with local / state regulations and is based on factors including education, qualifications, experience, and location. The total annual compensation may include a base salary and eligibility for a discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
