Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno, Office of Digital Learning is recruiting for a Learning Systems Administrator. This position is responsible for the administration, support and maintenance of the university's learning management system (LMS) and any integrations, add-ons or expansions. The position oversees enterprise-level administration of the LMS, ensuring seamless integration with the student information system (SIS) and other university systems, accurate course and user provisioning, and reliable delivery of courses across the institution. The position is also responsible for the administration of the university's video management platform (i.e. Kaltura). This includes performing updates, ensuring accessibility of the video player, and managing the video content lifecycle. The position reports to the Executive Director, Office of Digital Learning (ODL).

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary administrator for the University's learning management system (LMS); perform maintenance and updates as necessary
• Work closely with any subaccount administrators within the university's LMS environment
• Evaluate and implement new integrations with the LMS
• Work with internal ODL team and the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to ensure the accessibility of LMS integrations
• Serve as the primary system administrator for the university video management platform (e.g., Kaltura)
• Ensure that all video players used in production meet university standards for accessibility and branding
• Work closely with OIT, the MyNevada team and Admissions & Records to maintain and support WebCampus / MyNevada grade integration
• Work closely with internal ODL team members and university constituents on projects and solutions to meet campus needs (e.g., WebCampus Engagement Survey)
• Create integration files to accommodate special courses / circumstances
• Develop, deploy, and maintain branding and customization for primary and secondary LMS interfaces, landing pages, and login screens

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and two years of related work experience : OR a master's degree and one year of related work experience.

Related Experience :  providing computing support in a networked environment, including some experience with a course management system

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees

The University is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits, but in order to be eligible children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and / or employee's spouse or domestic partner.

The Office of Digital Learning is charged with the support of academic technology at the University both in and out of the classroom. We provide faculty training and support in the areas of instructional technology, classroom technology, instructional design, and accessibility.
