The Bulk Production Lead position is responsible for leading a team of employees in the Semi-automated packaging room. This position monitors daily schedules, efficiencies, work quality, documentation, and adherence to Food Safety guidelines. The Production Lead position provides training, vacation relief, equipment trouble-shooting, and any other duties under the direction of production management. Keeps management informed of daily activities and significant issues; promotes a positive work environment by encouraging teamwork among production crews, maintenance, sanitation, and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Conducts daily start up tasks including preop inspections, machine setup, and material setup
- Coordinates employee schedules to ensure production capacity needs are met
- Arranges for, and assists with position coverage during vacations and absences
- Participates in production process : stages materials, operates and troubleshoots bagging machines, operates forklift equipment, audits production records for accuracy and completion
- Enters weekly production performance data to trend successes and opportunities
- Provides suggestions to management for process and line efficiency improvements
- Ensures that work areas are kept clean and organized; keeps areas inspection-ready
- Ensures work teams follow all SOPs and food safety standards
- Performs all operations in a manner that promotes safety
- Assists in orientation, training, and coaching new and temporary employees
- Assists in other warehouse tasks such as inventory
