Triad Engineering, Inc. has an immediate need for a Project Engineer within the Civil group in our Hagerstown, MD office.

This mid-level position requires :

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • Four (4) years of relevant progressive experience
  • EIT
  • The preferred candidate will be eligible to sit for the PE in less than one (1) year, or currently holds a PE

    DUTIES

  • Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria on moderately complex projects
  • Possess the ability to take a project from concept to final completion with occasional supervision
  • Work closely with senior staff members to gain project management experience
  • Monitor project budget and schedule, understanding basic financial terms and concepts of profitability
  • Plan, schedule and / or coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work with clients, contractors and project team members
  • May make design recommendations, adaptations and modifications with guidance from senior staff members
  • Prepare reports and correspondence related to assigned projects
  • Prospect, develop and maintain client relationships
  • Participate in business development and customer service whenever possible
  • Strive to make each project profitable
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • Experience

  • 4 years of relevant progressive experience
  • Post-graduate degree in engineering may substitute for one year of experience
  • Certification

  • Must be eligible for, or hold, a Professional Engineer's License
  • Additional Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
  • Must possess advanced reading, writing and math skills
  • Must be comfortable communicating with the public
  • Must possess intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs, and the ability to learn company / client software
  • Must be available to work in all types of indoor and outdoor environments
  • Work is performed both in the office and in the field, which may include all weather conditions, construction sites and / or difficult terrain, and extensive standing and walking. In the field, the employee will regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and / or move up to 60 pounds; occasionally move 80 pounds or more (such as a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete or soil samples). Overall, work may routinely require the employee to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and / or crawl. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear and frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must have the ability to see and smell; including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus.
