Title of Position : Videographer

Direct Supervisor : Video Producer

Position Type : Full

Synopsis of Role :

The primary role of this position is to equip believers to do the work of the ministry. This is accomplished by providing video support for events and worship services.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Participating with the Creative and Communications teams to plan / implement creative elements within services
  • Developing video ideas to be used in services
  • Create engaging and compelling visual content to be used in service and through online mediums
  • Leading peers on assigned creative projects
  • Capturing video from events such as, but not limited to, Serve Projects, worship services, youth and kids events, stories of life change or inspiration
  • Developing and managing an organized archive of footage from past events and services that can be used for upcoming projects
  • Planning and dreaming ahead to help drive the creative department of CityHope
  • Working across departments with different leaders to produce content for services and events
  • Maintaining, servicing, and storing video equipment
  • Executing projects with tight deadlines without compromising accuracy or quality
  • Helping develop the next generation of young creatives at CityHope (this includes volunteers)
  • Staying up to date with current editing and capturing methods / skills

  • Self-starting : the ability to develop an effective rhythm of work that does not involve the constant direction of a direct report
  • Skilled Video Capturer / Editor; extensive knowledge of capturing and editing software to produce professional video content
  • Creative problem solving : the ability to think critically when it comes to solving issues of resources, personnel, or space. To find solutions that move the vision forward in situations that others without this competency would not
  • Ethical : the possession of a moral standard that does not allow room for holes in character that would cause distrust or harm the ministry
  • Organization : the ability to keep things arranged systematically, especially on a large scale. Proficient in spreadsheets and reading data to assist in ministry growth
  • Flexibility : the ability to be on a team, understand expectations, but also pivot when necessary
  • Attention to Detail : the ability to make the necessary adjustments to complete projects with the desired outcome and standard

    • Required Education / Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • 3 years of experience as a Professional Videographer
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop is required
  • Experience with After Effects is a plus
  • Prior knowledge of CityHope and the structure of at least 1 campus (preferred)
