As the principal financial officer of the College, the Head of Finance is selected and appointed by the President of the College with the approval of the Board of Trustees. The Head of Finance reports to the President and works closely with the Board of Trustees. The Head of Finance provides oversight and management of the financial affairs of the College and keeps the College's President fully informed of the status of such affairs and keeps other pertinent staff informed as required and directed by the President. It is mandatory that the Head of Finance work effectively with the College's staff as a team member in accomplishing the College's operating functions, goals and mission.

The major responsibilities of this position include :

• Protect and control the College's assets.
• In conjunction with the President and the College's Board of Trustees construct, revise and execute the budget, long-range and strategic plans of the College.
• Supervise the accounting, finance, HR and financial planning functions of the College.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, coordinate related supporting systems and procedures, and prepare owrating and financial reports as required, including interim and year-end financial statements.
• Maintain College's chart of accounts and keep the books and records of all transactions and assets.
• Ensure proper internal controls are in place and operating.
• Compare monthly and year-to-date performance with operating plans and financial budgets and interpret those comparisons in the monthly Management Committee meeting for the President and designate staff, and as directed by the President, for the College's Board of Trustees.
• Coordinator improvements to and changes in automated financial aid systems and assist in the management information systems of the College,
• Manage the College's cash flows and oversee its investments.
• Supervise the preparation of financial reports to government agencies.
• Manage the College's purchasing function.
• Direct the College's payroll function.
