Overview
In Home Sales Consultants are responsible for performing in-home residential window and door replacement consultations following Pella's in-home selling process, including product demonstrations, project evaluation and measuring, project estimating, closing the sale, following the job through the system, and collecting payment after installation. This is a 100% commission sales position with unlimited earnings potential after an initial training period. Only candidates living in the state of TN will be considered.
In Home Sales Consultants are responsible for managing practices and procedures designed to increase sales, enhance profitability, and develop highly satisfied customers. The role includes generating repeat customers, referral customers, and new customers independent of Pella's advertising and marketing efforts.
Responsibilities
- Pursues leads, gives product demonstrations in the home and at the Window Store, discusses product options with the customer and takes on-site measurements.
- Ensures quotes and orders are accurate and follows company sales processes.
- Completes all required paperwork to ensure necessary information is available for the Project Coordinator and Installer.
- Complies with company policies on pricing, product offering, installation, credit and collections.
- Follows up with prospects to inform them of business changes such as product offering, pricing, or assembly options in a timely manner.
- Must be computer literate and able to use electronic software (PQM, MS Office, ACE, etc.) to track, quote, sell and order products.
- Performs follow-up with customers to ensure the project meets or exceeds expectations.
- Coordinates with the Project Coordinator to ensure accurate understanding and timely resolution of customer issues.
- Participates in departmental and interdepartmental meetings or training as required.

Education and Experience : BS / BA, AA or Technical degree preferred; 2 years of sales, customer service, or general business experience preferred. Prior knowledge of general construction applications and terminology and / or window and door applications or components is desirable.Computer Skills : Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Develop proficiency in Pella proprietary software (PQM, POETS, OMS, etc.). Ability to compile and decipher information in spreadsheet format.Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written English, strong customer service skills, ability to read and explain product specifications or warranty manuals. Must have good phone and email etiquette and present a professional attitude when interacting with customers or coworkers.Professional Skills : Must be a team player, proactive, self-disciplined, self-motivated, able to follow projects to completion, detail-oriented, organized, able to meet deadlines, and able to build trust with customers and colleagues. Must present a clean appearance and resolve issues in the best interests of the business and customers.Mathematical Skills : Ability to perform basic calculations and interpret financial figures, percentages, areas, and other measurements.Physical Demands : Regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, and communicate. Occasionally sit, stoop, or crouch. Occasionally lift and / or move up to 30 pounds. Vision requirements include near and far vision and depth perception. Time commitment varies and may exceed 40 hours per week seasonally.Work Environment : Typical office environment with frequent visits to construction sites or customer homes; moderate noise level.Miscellaneous : Sales Consultants must have their own, fully insured and functional automobile.Company Description
