Night Shift Flaking Shift Lead
SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Flaking Supervisor, the Flaking Shift Lead is responsible for leading the production crew in daily responsibilities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Kind & Length of Experience :
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Position-specific vocational education / experience, training, or certification is preferred
- Stand up forklift certification required; in house certification will be provided prior to start.
- At least one year working in the flaking department or as a chemical operator in a similar facility
PERFORMANCE MEASURES AND STANDARDS
Mechanical aptitude - knowledge of machines and tools including design, use, repair, and maintenanceProficient with the normal use of computer software / hardwareSolid understanding and application of basic math principlesReview / generate completed production documentation for quality requirementsMeet all stated timing deadlines for documentationPerform and / or facilitate on the job training for new operatorsFacilitate and perform the ongoing development and training of operatorsAct as liaison to coordinate activity with support groups as neededSupervise completion of work by assigning work to crew members on an as needed basis, with preference given to facilitating work flow as a team approachOversee all control room operationsAbility to act as a supervisor in the event that they are absentOpenly share and communicate all production priorities to crewFoster and promote an atmosphere of teamworkAttend production meeting, report the daily packout / thru-put and downtime, delay issues (i.e. late truck arrivals, mechanical / equipment downtime, etc.)Complete all training assignments as required by operations to meet performance, safety and quality expectationsRead, understand and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs)Participate in departmental reviews / updates current SOPs / WIs / Forms and writing of new SOPs / WIs / FormsParticipate in troubleshooting, efficiency and improvement activities, including corresponding documentation activitiesComplete job tasks to meet department scheduleStrong commitment to safety and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standardsSupport efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care 14001 (RC14001) / Environment, Health, Safety, & Sustainability (EHS&S) management systemConform with the EHS&S Policy and the Cardinal RulesMaintain a safe and secure workplace and meet environmental site requirementsSupport the EHS&S objectives and targets, and any specific action plans or management programs assignedUnderstand the EHS&S risks and impacts of the employee's job and functional area, including appropriate controls and proceduresUnderstand the EHS&S impacts / consequence that could result if specified procedures are not followedReport accidents and incidents to a supervisor or the EHS&S departmentParticipate in required EHS&S trainingOther duties as requested.Customer Service, Teamwork & Code of Conduct :
