Locums - Cardiothoracic Surgeon - Fort Myers, Florida Start Date : 9 / 22 / 25Duration : 2 / 27 / 26Type : Inpatient & Surgical - Hospital-based

Position Overview

• Schedule : Monday-Friday, 6 : 45 AM - 5 : 00 PM
• Setting : Inpatient consults, inpatient surgical cases, pre & postoperative rounding (no clinic)
• Rounding : All rounding completed with an APP; APP creates consult / progress notes; surgeon must add note and co-sign
• Weekend Coverage :
• Rounds on all patients with a PA
• Covers emergent OR cases only
• Sees all new consults
• Likely required 1 weekend per month
• Night Call Process :
• Weekday call : 4 : 30 PM - 7 : 00 AM (shared equitably across surgeons, typically M-Th)
• Weekend call : Friday 4 : 30 PM - Monday 7 : 00 AM (covered by weekend surgeon)
• First Call : Surgical PA for floor patients
• CVICU : CTS APP in-unit most nights; will escalate to surgeon if needed
• ER : Calls surgeon directly if needed
