Summary
Assist the Director of Budget and Reporting in all functions necessary for timely and accurate decision support and cost accounting reporting. Primarily responsible for optimization and maintenance of the Syntellis Decision Support System (Syntellis). Responsibilities include assisting with maintaining cost allocation tables and MCA procedural weight tables, performing audits of the cost data, completion of monthly database updates in a timely manner and ensures the integrity of the data passed through Syntellis Cost Center Accounting (CCA) from the Financial system (Epic). Other responsibilities include providing reports out of Syntellis on an ad-hoc basis, and completing any other tasks as assigned by the Director of Budget and Reporting, Corporate Controller or Chief Financial Officer
Major Job Functions

- Coordinates and oversees all decision support related special projects as assigned.
- Oversees and ensures the performance of monthly updates and audits of the clinical cost accounting database.
- Maintains and updates hospital cost accounting tables. Cost tables are updated monthly from General Ledger expense data. Cost tables are necessary to report Cost Factors in CCA databases.
- Analyzes, assesses and implements cost accounting rules utilizing appropriate methodologies to accurately capture and maintain procedural costs for hospital operations.
- Assist in the preparation and the presentation of the monthly results analysis to senior management, which includes financial highlights, facility level volumes, physician volume and margin analysis, service line volume and margin analysis, net revenue analysis, departmental variance analysis and operational analysis versus budget to drive operations.
- Assist with business development analysis to support potential new investments including preparation of proformas.
- Assist with the development of the Corporate Scorecard as well as supporting operational benchmarking through Premier.
- Provides support, assistance and information for all decision support users. Develop reporting solutions for leadership. Create and run monthly reports for directors and managers. Provide assistance to users creating report formats and answer specific questions regarding Syntellis data and tables. Assist in budget preparation by generating expected procedure volume data using treatment protocols and service line budget projections for expected cases. Provide periodic educational opportunities to new leaders including classes on understanding service line reporting and profitability and the development of proformas to support the business case for new equipment and / or services.
- Aid in the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Formal Training :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Finance required.MBA / MHA preferredWork Experience :
5 years in healthcare finance requiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required :
Demonstrates knowledge of spreadsheet and database software and graphic / specialty and other finance related software programs.Highly effective oral and written communication skills are necessary in dealing with a variety of healthcare and finance professionals including Senior Management staff.Excellent organization and problem-solving skills and team leadership skills are required to develop and implement efficient work processes.Ability to judge the level of confidentiality of information / activities involved in and exhibit integrity in use or dissemination of such information.Ability to assess and evaluate complex financial data via use of computer analysis.Ability to tactfully motivate and guide Senior Management, Vice Presidents, Administrators, Directors, Department managers, and co-workers while maintaining required degree of confidentiality and purpose.Physical Requirements :
