Description :
The Individualized Home Support (IHS) Worker aids, skill-building, and support to individuals to help them increase independence and participate fully in their communities. IHS services promote growth in four core areas : Community Participation , Health, Safety, and Wellness , Household Management , and Adaptive Skills .
The IHS Worker operates under the direction and supervision of the Designated Coordinator (DC) and follows the individual support plan and agency policies to ensure high-quality care and compliance with all applicable regulations.
Requirements :
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age .
- Must successfully pass a criminal background study , including fingerprinting, as required by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS).
- Must maintain current TB testing and demonstrate good physical and mental health.
- Ability to demonstrate a compassionate, patient, and supportive attitude when assisting others.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow directions, complete documentation accurately, and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to promote goodwill and represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.
- Previous experience in home care, social services, or direct support preferred, but not required.
