Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist with a NY license, ARDMS, BLS, and at least 1 year of community hospital ultrasound experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in a general ultrasound setting within a community hospital
  • Outpatient work experience is required
  • Performs basic ultrasound exams including OB, abdominal, DVT, carotids, and breast for pediatric to adult patients
  • Thoracentesis and paracentesis are common procedures
  • Evening shift from 3 : 00 PM to 11 : 00 PM, five days per week
  • Call required every third day after 6 : 00 PM and every third weekend
  • Candidates must be willing to float as needed
  • EPIC charting experience is required
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
  • Responsibilities include scanning patients ranging from pediatric to adult and assisting with thoracentesis and paracentesis
  • A team environment with community hospital support
  • Module-based training completed pre-start, with up to 5 hours billable
  • Return staff must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return

    • Requirements

  • Active NY state license in hand required for consideration
  • Certification in ARDMS and BLS is required
  • Minimum of 1 year ultrasound experience in a community hospital setting
  • Experience with outpatient procedures is required
  • Previous experience with EPIC EMR is required
  • Preferred certifications include ARRT-Sonography, RDMS-AB, RDMS-OB, RDMS-BR, RDMS-Peds, and RVT
  • Experience with biopsies is preferred
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
