SALARY : $75,000 - $82,000 / annually
JOB SUMMARY : Catholic Charities is seeking a trauma-informed, compassionate educator and lifelong learner to serve as its next Organizational Learning & Development Manager.
The Organizational Learning and Development Manager leads the design, development, and implementation of learning initiatives that strengthen staff capacity to serve vulnerable populations with compassion and excellence. This role advances Catholic Charities’ commitment to trauma-informed, equitable, and mission-driven practice by creating accessible, engaging training for employees across all levels of the organization.
Reporting to the Director of Culture and Belonging and working collaboratively with the Director of Human Resources Operations and the Chief Legal Officer / Compliance Officer, the Manager oversees agency learning programs including onboarding, compliance training, supervisory development, and leadership pathways. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in adult learning, organizational development, and inclusive training strategies that foster growth, engagement, and professional readiness across the agency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Training Program Management
- Lead the assessment, development, coordination, and tracking of training for all employees.
- Manage and enhance the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring accessible, relevant, and up-to-date content for diverse learners.
- Partner with leaders to design and deliver training specific to frontline and supervisory roles, covering topics such as de-escalation, trauma-informed care, ethical service delivery, and supervisory effectiveness.
- Coordinate external training partners and resources to complement internal expertise.
- Ensure training is available in multiple, accessible formats for employees across shifts and locations.
Employee Development & Mission-Focused Learning
Collaborate on the design and delivery of onboarding programs that prepare new employees for success.Support leadership and career development initiatives that strengthen workforce engagement and retention.Partner with Culture and Belonging, HR, Legal, Compliance, and Program leaders to integrate Catholic Charities’ mission, values, and trauma-informed principles into learning initiatives.Communicate new policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure alignment between learning and operational priorities.Continuous Improvement & Evaluation
Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, participation data, and measurable outcomes.Incorporate best practices from human services, compliance, and adult learning to continuously improve content and delivery.Maintain a resource library of toolkits, guides, and reference materials that support ongoing professional learning.Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual training requirements.Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Social Work, Organizational Development, or related field - or five (5) years of directly relevant experience in staff training, workforce development, human services, or education.Minimum of three (3) years of experience designing, delivering, and managing adult learning programs (onboarding, leadership development, or workforce training).Demonstrated ability to assess learning needs and develop strategies for diverse roles and learning styles.Strong understanding of adult learning theory, workforce development, and culturally responsive training design.Excellent facilitation, coaching, and presentation skills.Strong relationship-building, collaboration, and project-management abilities.Commitment to fostering a learning environment rooted in empathy, inclusion, and respect.Ability to engage effectively with diverse and / or low-income populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, or mental illness.PREFERRED :
Experience within nonprofit, health, human-services, or community-based organizations where staff training directly impacts community outcomes.Experience working directly with vulnerable populations or service providers.Proficiency in Learning Management System (LMS) administration and multi-format training (virtual, in-person, hybrid).WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
May occasionally work non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) to meet program needs.Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs without assistance and travel between program sites as needed.Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.JOB CLASSIFICATION : Salaried; Regular; Full-Time; Exempt
