NOW HIRING – MACHINE OPERATORS

Location : Lockport, IL

Company : PROMAN Staffing is partnering with a well-established manufacturer in Lockport!

Machine Operator – Job Summary

Pay : Competitive hourly wage (based on experience)

Schedule : Rotating shifts – must be available for days, nights, and weekends

Overtime : Required as needed – flexibility is a must

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently
  • Set up machines and monitor operations throughout production
  • Perform in-process quality checks and make necessary adjustments
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Troubleshoot minor machine issues and escalate complex problems
  • Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements

Detailed Duties – Machine Operator

Machine Setup & Operation

  • Prepare, set up, and operate machines (cutting, forming, packaging, etc.) according to SOPs

    • Quality Control

  • Inspect finished goods for defects; ensure compliance with quality standards

    • Troubleshooting & Maintenance

  • Diagnose basic mechanical issues; notify maintenance for complex problems

    • Material Handling

  • Load raw materials and unload finished products; use pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified)

    • Production Documentation

  • Record production data, settings, and downtime logs accurately

    • Cleanliness & Organization

  • Clean machines and keep work areas free of hazards

    • Team Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with leads and team members to ensure workflow continuity

    • Safety Compliance

  • Follow all safety guidelines; attend safety meetings; report hazards immediately

    • Inventory Monitoring

  • Monitor material levels; assist with inventory counts when necessary

    • Rotating Schedule Support

  • Must be flexible to switch between day / night shifts, weekends, and holidays

    • Qualifications

  • Previous experience in machine operation or manufacturing preferred
  • Availability to work a rotating schedule (days / nights / weekends)
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime as needed
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
