Description :
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our growing
finance team. This role will support the accounting needs of a LIHTC property
management company, development company, and nonprofit supportive service
provider. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Low-Income Housing
Tax Credit (LIHTC) accounting, multi-entity financial management, and hands-on
experience with QuickBooks Online and Yardi Breeze.
The Staff Accountant will support the full cycle of accounting operations including
accounts payable, budgeting, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and
compliance monitoring, with strict adherence to HUD and LIHTC regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities :
- Maintain accurate general ledger records for multiple entities, including LIHTC
properties, nonprofit operations, and development activities.
Manage accounts payable process (paper checks only) on a bi-monthly schedule,ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and intercompany transactionsacross multiple entities.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.Assist in the preparation and monitoring of property and organizationalbudgets, including variance analysis and forecasting.
Work closely with property managers and executive leadership to ensure accuratecost allocations and financial reporting.
Maintain up-to-date records and documentation in compliance with LIHTCprogram requirements, nonprofit standards, and funding agency regulations.
Collaborate with external auditors and consultants during audits and compliancereviews.
Utilize QuickBooks Online and Yardi Breeze to manage financial records, tracktransactions, and generate reports.
Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as requested by management.Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, including at least 1–2 years in LIHTC or affordable housing accounting.Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Yardi Breeze.Experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany reconciliations.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.Proven ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and maintain organized documentation.Experience with budget preparation and budget management.Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.Preferred Qualifications :
Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and reporting.Familiarity with HUD compliance and reporting.Prior experience working with paper check disbursements and traditional AP workflows.Experience supporting grant-funded programs or supportive housing operations.
